Probably why no one beside Noah knew. She almost opened up so many times to her colocs, but she was scared of how it would come out. What would they think of her? She was stupid enough to take a drink from a guy in a party.

She needed to let it out in the open without facing anyone. Make it public but hide in her room. Ruiner la réputation du danseur sans le regarder en cours or whatever. “ new uploaded video. ”Ivy venait de finir son entraînement du jour lorsqu’elle avait remarqué la notification sur son téléphone. Une nouvelle video d’Eli. Ivy savait généralement quand sa colocataire allait publier quelque chose. Elle l’avait vu filmer, ou éditer. This one came as a surprise. Intriguée, Ivy s’était assise sur le sol, adossée au miroir, and she clicked play. Si le titre l’avait inquiétée - nothing in common with her usual silly videos - le contenu de la vidéo ne fit qu’empirer les choses. It made her sick. She didn’t even finish the video. Instead, she got up, and went straight into King’s office, interrupting yet another one of his business meetings. But this was important. Important enough to make him stop a video conference. He could pick that up later. So she showed him the video, and it wasn’t long before they made their way to Eli’s room.

Ivy knocked. And then she knocked again. No answer. Should they wait? Go away? Maybe she wasn’t there. Sometimes, being a good friend was being there for someone even when they acted like they didn’t want you to. Because pride was a nasty thing, and asking for help was hard. So she decided to get in anyway, and went straight to Eli’s bed. Do you have space for us inside your pillow fort? she asked softly, sitting on the side of the bed, talking to a pile of blankets and pink fluffy pillows.

There were a few rules in the colocs house. No walking around naked - that one came from Ivy, after seeing Eli's nipples one too many times. Dunkin donuts had been banned by Eliott, because of Canadian pride, and no one was to enter Kingsley's office, when he had is Sorry we're closed sign on the door. It meant he was on a call, in a rush, or writing. That day, it was a video call with his own family, a Delarosa corporate meeting. People were arguing over the potential of tourism in Australia, since burned down land was cheap. Kingsley wasn't really interested, as he was tired after an all nighter spent writing. For a while, he had let his mind drift to other things, so he was quite startled when Ivy bursted into his office, breaking the rules. He could see in her face that something was wrong, and so could probably his whole family, trough the camera. Quickly, he closed his computer, ending the chat.

He watched the video thinking of how, only a few months ago, he was told he was over protective of her, like he had no reason to be. It wasn't her fault, not at all, but Eli attracted assholes like nobody's business. Then, following Ivy to Eli's room, he thought of the legal implications, of her job and how to fix things, on a practical level, the brain obviously still on meeting mode. For that video, she could be sued for defamation by the asshole and the company, easy. She had made herself prey to someone who had already preyed on her. She had opened a court case with one click.

Kingsley didn't think about the practical side of things anymore, once he saw her, or rather saw the mass hiding in her bed. She was hurt. Ivy asked if they could get into bed with her, but King wasn't as polite. He just pulled the blanket on one side, and went in, not saying a word, just holding her, letting her know he was there.

“ new uploaded video. ”King n’avait pas fait preuve de la même politesse qu’Ivy, et était allé se glisser sous la couette avec Eli. Ivy avait donc suivi le mouvement, allant s’enterrer sous les couvertures avec ses deux colocataires, et un petit chien qui semblait le seul à être heureux dans ce lit. Don’t care said Ivy when Eli told them she looked like crap. She had the right to look like crap as much as she wanted, even more so today than any other day. And don’t you dare say sorry about anything, she added, at the same exact time Eli started apologizing for something she couldn’t blame herself. Some people were bad. Plain and simple. You don’t have to go back if you don’t want to. But she shouldn’t have to quit because of him either. Ivy wanted to ask if she had reported it, or at least considered doing it but… she was afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. How were you supposed to react to that? Whatever you need, we’re here okay? Making sure she knew her friends were there for her was a good start, wasn’t it?

This was one of those situations no one really prepares you for - and even if they did, what they said might be totally wrong. It was just like grief. You have to have been through it to really understand, therefore, Kingsley couldn't, really. Sure, he knew what it felt like to say no, but someone going over him saying yes, but it was for silly things, like getting one more dog, or two. He knew what it was like to feel helpless too - To drown and have people looking at you and not extending an helping hand - but even then, it wasn't so... intimate. So, not having a clue, he let Ivy speak, looking at her over Eli's shoulder. Clearly, she had a better idea of how to handle the situation. Really, she did it like a champ - or like a mom talking to her daughter (he'd chosen a good one to start a family with some day). we're not going anywhere. was the only thing he added to the conversation, hugging eli even tighter, just to prove he was still there, and hadn't, yet, got lost in his own mind, looking for ways to destroy ballet dancers life.
