moving day (julian&levy)

Les préparatifs pour l’arrivée de Matteo continuaient. Rien n’était encore sûr, mais Lenny devait rester optimiste. Ils obtiendrait sa garde. Pas question qu’il soit élevé par ses grands parents. Et pour s’en assurer, ils devaient faire en sorte que tout soit parfait, et comme les services sociaux jugeaient qu’il était préférable pour le petit garçon de ne pas être baladé d’une maison à l’autre, Lenny et Julian avaient décidé qu’il emménagerait chez elle. C’était plus simple. Impossible pour Lenny de déplacer sa salle de musique, les dépendances, le refuge à deux pas de la maison. It was also bigger, and since they would be three living in there, they would need space - and Lenny had, selfishly, no desire to leave her house so it was great that staying in hers made sense.

Aujourd’hui, c’était le grand jour de l’emménagement. Lenny attendait donc l’arrivée de Julian avec un premier chargement d’affaire et une troisième paire de bras. Yay. En attendant, elle avait libéré de l’espace afin que les allées et venues s’effectuent sans entrave. Elle avait aussi fermé les portes qui menaient à l’entrée, histoire d’éviter que sa bande de monstres à quatre pattes ne viennent faire tomber les déménageurs d’un jour. Everything was ready.

Juju was a grown ass man moving in with a friend. It could sound like a set back, since not that long ago he was decorating a baby room with his wife. Now, he had no wife and no kid to watch grow up. But it was about to change. Not the wife part, Julian wasn’t good with ladies, so he didn’t even date since he signed the paper. And he wasn’t going to do the same mistake twice. Rushing into a wedding just to make anybody but himself happy.
Today was the day, he was leaving most of his furniture in his house that he’d rent or sell eventually, il savait toujours pas. Right now, Australians could use it and he was happy he could help them a little. Levy est arrivé pour une dernière fois à sa deuxième demeure en pas très longtemps à Concord. Il quittait pour une troisième plus heureux que quand il était arrivé dans cette maison.
Beaucoup de changement, mais Lenny et lui avait toujours été de bons amis. Elle avaient des animaux de compagnie (big bonus), un refuge pas très loin and the most important of all. Matteo allait les rejoindre très bientôt. C’était une situation délicate et triste, mais il fallait rendre le tout plus simple pour le petit.
Lev and Julian’s cars were full of box of clothings, his boxing and swimming gear, a few personal and work thing but that was pretty much it. Il allait occuper la chambre d’amis, fallait pas vider la maison au grand complet. Les deux garés devant la demeure de sa vieille amie. Let’s do this bro. A few words has they eachget out of their car. Starting this whole thing with a high five. Juju était reconnaissant que son meilleur ami l’aide. Ivy s’était porté volontaire, mais juju voulait pas impliquer trop de monde pour vider deux voiture pleines de carton.  Just like that two best bros made their ways to Lenny’s door les mains remplies. Juju ne savait pas s’il devrait frapper puisque ça allait devenir chez lui, mais dans le doute, il opta pour trois coup sur la porte.

He had said yes because he was a good friend, but really, this felt weird as fuck to Levy. Never, not even hammered to no end, he would have thought that he might, someday, be helping his best friend move in with his ex girlfriend because they were gaining custody of the child of a dead friend. Still, he was being a pal, showing up sober, early, and fake smiley. In his head, as Julian knock on the door, was just memory of taking pictures with Lenny, then his, and Matty, then a very chubby baby. Maybe if he hadn't been such a goofball, and her, such a tight ass (her ass was tight), he might have been the soon to be dad now - Of this kid, at least, since he had one in the oven with sloany-wants-your-babies.

Il ne fallu pas bien longtemps avant que quelques coups soient frappés à la porte. Lenny soupira. La présence de Julian ne la gênait pas. Ils étaient tombés d’accord sur le fait que c’était la même solution et à moins qu’il ait énormément changé ces dernières années… il n’était pas chiant. Non, la raison de ce soupire, c’était plutôt l’autre personne qui se trouvait derrière la porte. Parce qu’il fallait que son nouveau colocataire soit le meilleur ami de son ex, évidemment. Sinon, ce n’était pas drôle. Elle avait réussi à l’éviter avec succès ces dernières années, mais Concord était une petite ville, ils étaient voués à se croiser de temps à autres. Ils étaient sûrement même voués à se croiser plutôt souvent, à présent. You-pi.

Attrapant la poignée de porte, Lenny fit disparaître l’agacement de son visage, et ouvrit. Tu sais Julian, t’as pas besoin de frapper. Tu vas habiter ici, si tu dois attendre que je vienne t’ouvrir à chaque fois, tu risques de passer pas mal de temps dehors. Vraiment, ça n’allait pas être pratique. Vous voulez un café ou quelque chose avant qu’on s’y mette ? S’ils s’y mettaient tout de suite, ils finiraient plus vite, mais un café pouvait être utile, ils avaient du pain sur la planche.

This was now Julian’s place. A house filled with someone else’s things. A house where even the pets smelled the stranger out of him. Lenny was right, he wouldn’t be able to knock everytime he gets home. Il se répétait que quand ses affaires seraient dans sa chambre, he’d feel home. Je sais, je sais, but my hands were full. Pretending the boxe in his hand kept him from open a door to avoid saying it’s weird to life with my best friend ex to raise the child of our dead friend. Lenny était dans la même exacte situation, elle savait que c’était étrange.
Coffee would be great! Do you have muffins? Julian was always ready for a snack and he was moving in with a woman that was waaaayyy better than his ex wife in the kitchen. That part was awesome. The icing on the cake. (See what he did there, Juju is laughing hard in my brain)
On devrait avoir terminé vite, j’ai laissé la plupart de mes trucs dans la maison. Les Australiens en visite pour une durée indéterminé avait déjà établi leur marque dans la maison de toute façon. Juju just needed enough of his own thing to make his new room feel like his.Dropping the box he had to pet the dog smelling his leg. Talking to him even though he knew he was deaf, it’s just so easy to tell this big goof how pretty he is.

This once had been Levy's place. He'd never thought about it, but he couldn't remember knocking on the door before coming in. Part of that was because Lev was a bit on the impolite side, owning any place his friends were at, part because his name had been on the deed for a while. In any case, his memories weren't about to change, since he wasn't about to learn to be respectful of people's privacy in his mid-thirties. As he worked for the FBI, not giving a fuck about that was kind of in his job description, and he liked the idea of walking in on Lenny half naked in her kitchen.

He walked in the house, and suddenly, he felt like he was back in the past. Him and his boo had made up after one more very stupid fight, and he was coming home. In a second, it was like he'd never left, his brain had short circuited. Lenny talked about coffee, being a good host. Being a good co-host, Lev went to the fridge, opened it, you know, like he lived there, and looked inside. There's no more milk though. He shaked the carton, it wasn't totally empty, but very close to be. Lenny always did that. Baking is a science. You can't put too much milk just to finish it, it would ruin the thing. But getting a bowl, putting cereals in (the right way), and reaching for a carton of milk to find it on the verge of empty was the. worst. Babe, drink the freaking last drops instead of putting it back this is - He was picking a fight with his ex girl, in a house he didn't live in anymore, about milk that wasn't his. I will shut up. He undid the cap of the carton and almost chocked on the teaspoon of liquid that was left inside.

Sober. Swear it.

A une époque qui semblait aujourd’hui bien lointaine, c’était avec Levy qu’elle avait emménagé dans cette maison. Aujourd’hui, un autre homme s’apprêtait à y vivre, ses affaires prêtes à trouver leur place entre les murs de la vaste maison. Ce n’était pas un inconnu, fort heureusement, mais c’était tout de même étrange. Personne, hormis Levy, n’avait jamais vécu ici avec elle, et à l’époque où ils avaient vécu ensemble, le fait de partager le même toît qu’un homme était une étape difficile pour Lenny, sa dernière expérience en la matière étant était un véritable désastre. Lenny se réconfortait dans l’idée que Julian était quelqu’un de bien. De bien, et de gourmand, puisqu’à peine entré, il réclamait déjà à manger. Have you met me? she asked, leading them to the kitchen. Of course she had muffins.

Si Julian avait du mal à se faire à l’idée qu’il était chez lui, à présent, Levy avait le problème inverse. A peine entré dans la cuisine, he went straight to the fridge like he owned the place, told her there was no milk left, and started criticizing old habits of hers, giving her the sudden urge to grb a brand new carton of milk, just to hit him on the head with it. Yeah, you do that. Shutting up, what a great idea, he should do that more often. And you can also shut that door and stop acting like you own the place. It’s Julian’s home, not yours. Annoyed? A little bit, yeah. Don’t eat all the muffins Ju’, I’ll go get more milk, she said to Julian as she set a tray of muffins on the counter, back to her more pleasant self. She left for the back kitchen, coming back quickly with a new carton of milk, and a little ball of fur with big blue eyes she had found in there, looking for a way to make a mess and have some fun. I found an intruder. Barney, meet Julian, your new roommate. A new cat. Elle avait craqué quand il avait été déposé au refuge, this little baby was just way too cute for her not to take him home. She put the carton of milk on the table, and the cat in Julian’s arms, before turning on the coffee maker.

This was weird. Hearing Lenny’s say her place was his home. It surely didn’t feel like it yet. He wanted what was best for Mateo and they were great friends, things would be fine. Right? Juju was clearly a little anxious about it because he was eating even faster than usual. When his mouth is full he can’t say something he’ll regret. Beside, he didn’t want to be in between his brest friend and his coloc? His parenting partner? It’s ok, I don’t need milk in my coffee. Those words didn’t sound that clear. Julian knew better than talking with a mouth full of delicious muffins, but he was nervous.
What better take away anxiety than a tiny ball of fluff with blue eyes? Forgetting about the food for a few second, Julian grabbed the kitty like a baby petting its belly before eating the whole plate of baked goods.Nice to meet you roomy, you’re always welcome in my room! Julian grew up around animals because of his dad, at least this will feel familiar.
The last woman he lived with was his ex wife. Things didn’t end well. But Lenny and Julian have been friend for so long, he knew they could bake the best out of this situation for Matty. You haven’t talked in too long Lev’ it’s weird. Going to his friend so they can look at the kitty together like it’s an actual child. Isn’t he the cutest? Julian’s belly was kinda full, his clothes filled with Barney’s hair. He was now ready to bring all his stuff in his room. Don’t worry Lenny, I left all the weird déco Hayley didn't take with her home, you won’t notice I moved in! Her fridge definitely will. Julian is good with kids, but at least if he messes up with Mateo, he’d do great with this little guy.
Let’s do this. Lev holding the cat now, Juju could start with boxes going up and down the stairs with all his belongings. I think we better start without them, they are busy. Talking to Lenny qui roulait déjà les yeux à la présence de son ex. Julian was already thinking of ordering pizza because that’s what you do on moving day, right?
