Ivy Day, vingt-cinquième édition. It had been a success, from what Ivy had seen. People had fun. Mateo had made new friends. Ivy Day had always been the best day of the year, as far as Kingsley could remember. In his younger years, it was mainly because the Parkers knew how to throw parties that kids would actually enjoy, something King’s parents had trouble with. Later, it was one more occasion to hang out with his best friend in the whole wide world and give her all the gifts she would usually say no to. Always, he liked seeing her loved, happy, surrounded by people that cared for her. This year, however, felt a bit different. They were together. They were a secret. He had to keep a certain distance so his feelings wouldn’t show too much, since they had a tendency to make themselves pretty obvious. So, for the first time, he was seeing the day as somewhat of an outsider. Despite this, it was still the best day.

As evening came, people left. The closest people to the birthday girl stayed, eating, and then enjoying the jacuzzi, and screaming their lungs out in the living room, doing karaoké. King had done both, butchering a Queen song, before going for a soak, that he was still enjoying when Ivy joined the small group boiling themselves slowly in the water.

She sat right next to him, playing a very dangerous game. They had kept at least a meter in between them all day, just for safety. Ivy even dared to touch his hand, held it. Safety was out the window. His heart was racing, rushing to get blood somewhere he didn’t want it to go.

He could hear the Parkers talking, but didn’t pay any attention. He might have squeezed Ivy’s hand a little tighter, while trying to distract himself - He knew for a fact he looked at Levy’s creepy beady eyes for a while, trying as he might to get turned off, maybe pleading for help too, Get Julian away, he tried to send, telepathically. Kingsley even thinked it worked, since the ex-cop seemed to move, but, finally, just readjusted his position in the bath, before, well, looking through the water and seeing the obvious. Ivy ne pensait pas franchement qu'il se passerait… Quoi que ce soit, really, en prenant la main de King. Ils s'étaient plus ou moins évités toute la journée, personne n'étant encore au courant de la nouvelle tournure qu'avait pris leur amitié. C'était un équilibre à trouver, ne pas être trop proches, ni trop distants. Act like they did before. She didn’t know. But she did. Fuck… fuck fuck fuck… She let go of his hand and slipped away just a little, hoping some distance would help, and that Julian would not notice anything. She had never been more happy about Levy’s presence than she was now.

Well… What can I write here? Julian didn’t see a thing. Not hands cuddles. No awakening. He heard the name Matty and the word cake so his mind was out of the jacuzzi. But this wouldn’t be really funny to write. It almost happened actually, but he saw the hands let go of eachothers and humm… King’s bâton magique. Lev is a pretty guy, if he hadn’t see the hands, Juju could have thought King really like his abs who knows. S'étouffant avec sa salive malaisé. For some reason, maybe cause he watched the show with King sometimes, Glee popped in his mind.
