Est-ce que Ivy aimait les surprises ? Affirmatif. Est-ce qu’elle râlait quand on lui demandait d’entrer dans une pièce les yeux fermés ? Yup. Definitely. She did. Elle était à peine rentrée à la maison que King l’avait traînée à l’étage. Il avait préparé une surprise. Et évidemment, il nous voulait pas lui dire ce que c’était - parce que c’était… eh bien, une surprise ! You know, I’m pretty familiar with my own bedroom, King. It was, indeed, her bedroom. She barely used it anymore, it had became more of a dressing room since her and King got together but it still was her bedroom.

C’est quand elle poussa la porte qu’elle compris les cachotteries de King : a pillow fort was waiting for her, like the one they made as kids… but bigger. Because they weren’t whildren. They were full grown adults who did adult things and hid in a fort made out of blankets and pillows and pretty lights, like adults. It didn’t take them long to go hide inside King’s creation. The space was limited but since they had grown pretty close in the past few months, that wasn’t really a problem. How bored were you today that you started to think [i]’hum, what if I made a huge pillow fort? she asked, laying on the ground, made comfortable by an incredible amount of blankets and pillows.

Ce n’était pas un jour spécial, du moins, pas selon la souvenance de Kingsley. Peut-être oubliait-il l’anniversaire d’un connaissance, ou un moment marquant s’étant déroulé à la même date il y a des années, mais dans les deux cas, c’était assez moindre pour être omit. Surchargé de travail avec les soudaines chutes boursières dues au coronavirus et leurs effets sur ses investissements, King s’était enfermé dans son bureau au début de la semaine, n’en sortant que pour prouver qu’il était toujours vivant. Ce n’était pas nouveau, les rushs soudains de boulot, mais ça durait rarement aussi longtemps, et il ne s’était jamais senti aussi mal de garder sa porte fermée. Il avait une Ivy, maintenant, et ses prioritées changeaient. Réalisant qu’il n’avait pas été le meilleur des petits amis ces derniers temps, il sortit le nez de son office.

Ce n’était pas un jour spécial, mais Ivy l’était. Il devait trouver une façon de lui montrer, de la faire sentir, bien, spéciale.

King n’avait pas vraiment d’idée spécifique. Il savait simplement qu’il n’avait pas envie de lui offrir de fleurs, ni de dépenser un sou; Ça aurait été trop facile autrement. Alors, il brainstorma, seul, en faisant le lit d’Eli.

Il allait recréer Fort Mushmush, mais cette fois avec un cinéma intégré.

C’était simple, mais c’était… spécial.

C’est dans la vieille chambre d’Ivy qu’il se mit à la construction de leur château de draps. It felt a bit weird being in her room without her in it, like he was going through her purse for a snack. Il n’avait pas envie de déranger son jardin secret, alors, il prenait des précaution extra, s’assurant de ne rien bouger, sauf l’essentiel.

Il venait de mettre la touche finale, son laptop, netflix déjà ouvert et prêt à jouer le dernier film de Noah Centipede qu’ils s’étaient promis de juger ensemble, quand Ivy rentra à la maison. He hoped she liked his creation, because he sure did, and was very excited about it.

Mains sur les yeux, Kingsley guida Ivy jusqu’à sa propre chambre, après lui avoir dit un bonjour un peu trop dynamique - King liked surprises, even if they were for other people. TADA. He followed her in Fort MushMush quickly, laying down just next to her. I wasn’t, actually. I was busy as hell - as I have been lately - and i wanted to make it up to you. He gave her a quick peck, something very innocent because he wasn’t about to christen his childhood castle. how was your day?

Ivy ne voyait pas beaucoup King ces temps-ci. She was busy, everyone trying to get things done before things wen to shit with this virus crisis, and he was busier, already doing damage control, locked up in his office all day long. Elle comprenait, but still, it wasn’t fun. Peut être qu’il sortait de sa caverne la nuit. Elle n’en savait rien, elle, la nuit, elle dormait. Habituellement, elle ne se gênait pas pour débarquer dans son bureau quand elle se sentait un peu trop négligée, mais elle évitait, ces temps-ci. Elle faisait une apparition de temps en temps pour lui apporter de quoi manger, parce qu’un sac vide ça tient pas debout, mais en dehors de ça… she was basically dating casper the friendly ghost.

Les circonstances rendaient la résurrection de Fort Mushmush encore plus plaisante. She missed spending time with him, and these were stressing times. A nice moment, hidden under a bunch of cover, watching the last movie from Netflix’s not-so-golden boy was exactly what they both needed. It was okay. A little stressful, schedules keep changing, people are on edge, it feels like everyone is rushing to get things done before shit hits the fan… Might be why people are buying so much toilet paper… dit-elle, pensive. Cette soudaine obsession avait si peu de sens, autant trouver matière à en rire. The life of a model/dancer is so hard, isn’t it? C’était franchement pas la plus à plaindre, dans cette histoire, ses problèmes paraissaient bien superficiels. Still, it was stressful, especially knowing who was handling this mess. This is exactly what I needed. And I think you needed it too. She said, giving him a kiss avant d’appuyer sur lecture. Working non-stop wasn’t good for anyone, and Noah’s acting seemed to be getting worse with every movie he did. Best movie choice ever. They could judge him, and take their minds off of everything. And the potential threat of a bat/snake/pangolin virus wasn’t the only thing on Ivy’s mind… She hoped Centineo was especially bad in this movie.

Sachant que le monde était possiblement sur le point de s'arrêter, Kingsley devait prendre le plus d'élan possible, afin de se rendre de l'autre côté de la crise sans trop de pertes. People were counting on him. People with families and bills that needed paying. Normally, he didn't really notice the weight it was putting on his shoulder, money was always coming in, and if something happened to one of his investments, he could boost it using the recipes from another - It wouldn't be like that this time, however. He couldn't smile and tell, confidently, his employees that everything was going to be fine, because he honestly didn't know. Yeah. I will need the biggest of vacations after this, I swear. Ivy pressed play, and he felt her relax cuddled onto him. He kinda wished it could be as easy for him to let go. Even in the best circumstances, with a bad movie, a pretty girl and a pillow fort, his jaw was still clenched, things were still bothering him, some important, some, well... How did i think he was hot last movie? And what's up with the timing? the editing is shit. They were 3 minutes and 40 seconds in the movie. The reactions just didn't feel natural, like at all. So, during a filler of music and pointless driving, king took Ivy's hand, recreating what they had just witnessed. I've never been a girlfriend before. I hope i'm good at it! With all the facial expressions, he looked like he was about to have a stroke.

Laying back down, after his little scene, he felt better, relaxed. His jaw, for the first time in forever was unclenched, and his shoulder didn't feel like they were stuck to his ears. Bad movies were the best cures. I'm sorry I've been hiding in my corner lately. Shit has already hit the fan on the market and it's hard to scrape off - Even with my cleaning techniques.
